About Canyon Springs Golf Club
Playing Canyon Springs Golf Club is like taking a step back in time. The golf course was built on land that was heavily used in the Old West. There is even an antiquated water trough on the property that is dated February, 1900. Many of the old buildings surrounding the golf course were built using rock belonging to a 50-mile wall that surrounded the original property.
The golf course wanders through the lush hillsides of Southern Texas. The dense forests provide the perfect backdrop to this highly awarded golf course. It almost feels like playing a golf course on the east coast rather than the plains of Texas. Canyon Springs has been named the Best Public Golf Course in San Antonio two years running.
Several dry creek beds roll lazily through the golf course and must be avoided at all costs during play. Golfers will need to play the course several times in order to figure out the subtle nuances of the fairways and greens. Hidden slopes and dog-legs add to the character of this golf course.
