Washington Golf Courses

Washington is best known for its lush forests and towering mountains. The Cascade Mountain range divides the state with some of the most dense conifer forests in the country. The Cascade Mountains are home to several active volcanoes. The most famous of these is Mount St. Helens. This Volcano erupted in May of 1980, and was the most destructive volcano eruption in the history of the United States.
Washington State has great golf courses that are mainly tree lined and some of the most picturesque in the country. Sahalee Country Club has host several professional golf tournaments including the 1998 PGA Championship. Typically, the greens are very fast and well-maintained in this part of the country. Part of the reason for this is that bent grass is used on most of the greens. This is a very predictable surface and can get very quick.
Some other great golf courses in Washington include Homestead Farms Golf Resort, Port Ludlow Golf Club and Washington National Golf Club.
