Virginia Golf Courses

One of the biggest sports in Virginia is cycling. There are numerous trails and routes through the mountains and lowlands that will captivate any tourist. If you prefer a more city-based run you can try the Virginia Capital Trail, or if you like the mountains try the Appalachia Bike trail. Either way the different terrains will give you a great work-out and some spectacular scenery.
On the eastern side of the state two golfing legends were asked to design courses that would highlight the natural beauty of Virginia. These two legends were none other than Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Together they combined to design the courses at Bay Creek Resort. Both golf courses are in tremendous condition with green speed that average around 11 on the stimpmeter.
The Nicklaus course uses many waste bunkers as well as standard bunkers to test the players while the Palmer course has four holes that travel along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Play both of these golf courses for a memorable experience.
Other great courses in Virginia include Kingsmill Resort and Spa, Mattaponi Springs Golf Club and Poplar Groove Golf Club.
