South Dakota Golf Courses

Probably the most famous feature in South Dakota is Mount Rushmore located in the Black Hills. This granite monument was started in 1927 and work stopped on this sculpture in 1941. The monument was suppose to be larger but due to a lack of funds work had to be halted. The figures were carved initially using dynamite and than later workers would go up and carve out the find details by hand. Mount Rushmore is the largest tourist attraction in South Dakota.
