North Carolina Golf Courses

Depending on which part of the state you are in, the climate in North Carolina can vary greatly. Will elevation changes that range from sea level to over 6,500 ft, there are places were it can feel like the tropics and other areas that have a mild climate.

Auto racing has always been a popular form of entertainment in the south. NASCAR is extremely popular in North Carolina. More than 80 % of the racing teams in NASCAR call North Carolina home. This is fitting since there are 3 NASCAR races a year held at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

This year Pinehurst Resort located in Pinehurst, NC will play host to the recently announce McGladry Cup sponsored by the PGA of America. This team event will assemble teams from all across the country to compete in a special event in September. Pinehurst Resort has hosted several major championships in its time. Most recently it hosted the 2005 US Open.

The courses in North Carolina come in a wide variety but many of the golf courses will feature large pines that line the fairways. In addition to the Pinehurst Resort, North Carolina is home to the Pine Needles Golf Club and Rivers Edge Golf Club.
