New Mexico Golf Courses

With a past that has been influenced by many different traditions, New Mexico has a strong Latin influence on its culture. Located in the southwest portion of the United States this area was once owned by the Mexican government. The land was eventually given to the United States in order to end hostilities during the Mexican-American war.
During the first two weeks of October the skies come alive with color during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. This is the largest such gathering in the world consisting of 750 balloons from a wide variety of countries. The crowds watching this event have been reported to number around 100,000 individuals.
New Mexico is blessed with many different types of landscape. This can be seen at the Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club. This golf course is located on the east side of the Sandia Mountains. Due to the high elevation the courses can play to as long as 7,500 yards from the back tees. Designed by Ken Dye this course was opened up to great acclaim.
Other great golf courses include Black Mesa Golf Club and Pinon Hills Golf Club.
