Kentucky Golf Courses

Kentucky is often called the "Bluegrass" state because of all the bluegrass that grows in abundance. One of the myriad things that make this state unique is the presence of the world's largest cave system at Mammoth Cave National Park. Carved out of limestone rock, this cave system has currently been mapped to over 350 miles of passages. There are numerous tours and activities for the family at this national park.
Kentucky is also abundant in fish and other wildlife. The state is home to more miles of waterways and streams than any other state in the continental United States. This makes Kentucky ideal for hunting and fishing.
Golf in Kentucky is consistently growing and thriving. Kentucky is home to Valhalla Golf Club. This PGA-owned facility has played host to the PGA Championship as well as the upcoming 2008 Ryder Cup. Designed by Jack Nicklaus this is only one of many high quality golf courses that dot the Kentucky landscape. Although Valhalla is private there are many great courses open to the public, including Old Silo Golf Club, which was ranked among the Top 10 Best Public Golf Courses by Golf Digest Magazine.
