Kansas Golf Courses

Kansas is located in the prairie lands of the United States. Once home to American Indians, this land was explored by the legendary Lewis and Clark. Today about 90% of the land in Kansas is devoted to farms and raising livestock. Kansas is the single largest processor of cattle in the United States. The buffalo is also making a comeback onto the plains in this great state. A visit to Kansas is a great opportunity to discover how the first settlers lived as they made their way across the land toward the west coast.

Prairie Dunes was recently the site of the 2006 Senior U.S. Open. This course was designed by Perry Maxwell, a creator of many great golf courses in the Midwest. These flat golf courses rely on bunkers, trees, and water hazards to add the element of challenge to the layout. Other great golf courses in Kansas are Colbert Hills and Sycamore Ridge.
