Georgia Golf Courses

Georgia is known as the "Peach State." The state received this designation because of the high quality of the fruit the state produces. When you think of Georgia you think of southern hospitality. Weeping willows, mossy trees, swamps and lily pads all contribute to the varied forms of life that live in this wonderland. Agriculture plays a large part in the daily life of Georgia. Georgia produces a wide variety of crops including peanuts and pecans. This is also the home of the Coca-Cola Corporation.
Each year Augusta, GA is the home of golf's first major championship of the year. The Masters has become a tradition second to none. Started in 1934 this tournament has been watched by millions and many great players have dreamed of driving down the magnificent driveway to the clubhouse at Augusta National. As one of the most exclusive golf clubs in the country, this course is all but impossible for the average golfer to play.
Although the average player is not allowed to play Augusta National, there are many fine golf courses in Georgia open to the public. Great Water at Reynolds Plantation is one such course. This Jack Nicklaus designed golf course opened to a wave of excitement when it opened in 1992. Other great courses include Sea Island Golf Club, The Golf Club at Cuscowilla and Oconee at Reynolds Plantation.
