Located in eastern Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth is home to legendary golfer Lee Trevino. Players from Texas are known for their abilities to play in high wind conditions. This part of Texas is dry and frequently has a lot of wind. The oil industry was a major economic source for the area and was made famous by the Television series Dallas. Colonial Country Club is one of the most difficult golf courses in the country and has hosted the U.S. Open Championship several times.
