cowboysThe Cowboys Golf Club is the first and only golf course in the country themed after an NFL team. Since it opened in 2001 it has consistently received high marks from local and national golf publications. Owned and operated by Jerry Jones, this golf course is a living tribute to the great Dallas Cowboys. As the golf course meanders through the traditional Texas landscape, players will feast their eyes on landmarks and various plaques that immortalize the accomplishments of this great team.

Many of the holes at the Cowboys Golf Club are flanked by trees that stand 30-40 feet tall - a daunting sight if you happen to find one of these beauties. The golf course plays to over 7,000 yards in length and punishes the errant shot. Reminiscent of the Dallas Cowboys defensive line, this golf course lets you know who is in charge. Great tee shots and a delicate touch around the greens are the keys to success on this golf course.

Designed by Jeffrey Brauer, the Cowboys Golf Club has received many awards since it first opened. Some of these accolades include #2 on the Top 50 Golf Courses in America in the 2005 Zagat Survey, #1 Public golf course in the Dallas/Fort Worth by the 2004 San Antonio Express News.

This is a challenging golf course that features eleven holes were water comes into play. The 16th hole is a perfect example of how tough the finishing holes on this golf course can be. This hole plays over 450 yards from the back tee, with water down the left hand side near the green. Fortunately this golf hole is fairly straight and you can play away from the water on the second shot.

One unique aspect of the golf course is the pricing structure that is used. Included in this VIP round of golf are your green fees, cart fees and practice balls, but the fun doesn't stop there. Hold on to your hats, you won't believe this! Also included in your fee are non-alcoholic beverages and food in the clubhouse and on the golf course. This is an unheard-of deal at any golf course that I have ever been to.

Not only is the Cowboys Golf Club in great condition but they bend over backwards to make sure you have a great time. There is nothing quite like the true Texas hospitality. The old saying "everything is bigger in Texas" is heartily confirmed by this amazing deal. If you are ever up for a memorable Texas golf trip, take the time to check out this wonderful facility.
