After his brilliant finish in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, Henrik Stenson has positioned himself as the number 5 player in the world. This is the highest a Swede has ever placed in this ranking system. Although Stenson is soft spoken about this accomplishment, his game has talked loudly for him in recent weeks.

Recently Stenson went head to head against Tiger Woods and Ernie Els to capture the Dubai Desert Classic. Stenson has shown he can play with the top players in the world and deserves his No. 5 world ranking. Winning the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship was Stenson's first WGC victory. This was a great victory considering the strength of the field he had to compete against. Stenson's victory is remarkable seeing as how he was in the Bobby Jones bracket, the same as Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods did not have his best week when he was beaten by Nick O'Hern in the third round. Nick O'Hern played a very steady and calculated game against Tiger Woods. After making several double bogeys on the front nine Tiger Woods was 3 Down after the first nine holes. Tiger Woods then made his typical charge and managed to get even after regulation. After 20 holes of play, Nick O'Hern managed to beat Tiger Woods and advance to the next round.

This was the second time that Nick O'Hern has beaten Tiger Woods in a match-play competition. O'Hern should be congratulated on the impressive game he played throughout the match. Time after time he made swings under serious pressure that kept him in the game. Even with the 3 up lead, O'Hern knew he couldn't let his guard down. Anytime a player can beat one of the best match-play players in the world you have to feel proud.

It was nice to see some of the young talent coming to the forefront and putting up a fight against the world's best. As Tiger Woods gets older many of the younger players he has inspired over the past decade are going to come gunning for him. Charles Howell III is a perfect example. He could be the next player to really challenge Tiger Woods.

Not one to be overshadowed, Fred Funk won the regular tour stop down in Cancun, Mexico. This makes him the first player since Craig Stadler to win on both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour in the same year. Fred Funk has always been a very consistent player, but in his late 40's he has really brought his game to a new level. He won the Players Championship in 2005 and finished in the top 50 on the 2006 money list. He will have some tough choices this year on which tour to play.

This week the Tour starts its Florida swing. The Honda Classic will be played at the PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Luke Donald won this event last year but Henrik Stenson is a good choice to watch this week. He is coming off his victory at the Match Play Championship and brings with him a lot of confidence.

Many of the players haven't seen this revamped course; Jack Nicklaus has added some teeth to the course that will definitely challenge the players. Golf in Florida is much different than in Arizona. Water and sand play a vital role in making these golf courses difficult. Many of the holes at PGA National have carries over either water or sand to well guarded greens. Look for the player who can avoid these problems and master the greens at PGA National to win this event.
