Siena Golf Club- A Wonderful Golf Experience
By Shane Jensen

Right in the middle of any list of affordable golf courses in Las Vegas, Nevada is Siena Golf Club. Siena Golf Club opened its first nine holes in December of 1999 and has gotten rave reviews ever since.
Designed by Schmidt and Curley, this golf course is unlike any other in the city. These two designers have taken the sand bunker to a whole new level. The most defining characteristics of this golf course are the deep and punishing bunkers that line the fairways. If you happen to hit your ball into one of these bunkers it might take you two or three shots to find the fairway again.
Siena Golf Club is a great collection of short and long holes. Whether it is a reachable par-5 or a short par-3 over water, the variety of holes will hold every golfer's interest. The white sand is a dramatic contrast to the green grass that blankets the course. During the winter months the edges of the bunkers turn yellow which provides a further dazzling contrast to the golf course.
The greens at Siena Golf Club are usually fast and have a lot of undulations. I have never played this golf course when the greens have been less than 9.5 on the stemp meter. Siena Golf Club takes pride in the condition of the facility. The fairways are striped and the bunkers are always raked.
When you check into the golf shop be sure to ask about the contest they have going on at the 7th hole. This hole-in-one contest costs only $5 to enter and gives you the chance to win $10,000 or a 1-year lease on a BMW. Not only are the rewards for the winner great, but it also benefits the Childrens' Miracle Network.
The staff at Siena Golf Club is always on the ball and anticipates your every need. The bag drop is always manned and they will make sure your clubs are located outside the golf shop after you check in.
The Siena Bistro is an intimate restaurant that has a full service menu. If you are just looking for a quick bite or need space for an after-tournament banquet, The Siena Bistro will be able to accomdate your needs. Over the years they have tailored a menu that has been tested by the discrimating tastes of the local residents.
Siena Golf Club fills a special niche in the Las Vegas golf market. There has always been need for a golf course that players will enjoy that has a desert feel. The lack of trees and sparse vegetation around this golf course gives the player a true Las Vegas golf experience.
