Cabo Del Sol - Ocean CourseIt was at Cabo del Sol where the Jack Nicklaus designed the golf course that 10 years ago elevated Los Cabo from "a sleepy little fishing village" to world-class golf destination it is today. The Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol put Los Cabos on the golf map, and it remains the crown jewel of Los Cabos golf. Often referred to as the "Mexican version of Pebble Beach," this Jack Nicklaus Signature designed masterpiece has consistently been ranked by various golf magazines as one of the top golf courses in the world since its inception in 1994. In fact, it remains the only golf course in Mexico ranked in Golf Magazine's Top 100 Golf Courses in the World (#68 in the 2003 rankings), and is ranked #1 in Latin America by T&L Golf.

Signature Hole # 17

One of the signature holes at The Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol, the 17th hole is regarded as one of the greatest par 3's in the world. Golfers play their tee shot from a cliff top over the crashing surf to a green perched on a granite rock outcropping with the Sea of Cortes looming in front and to the right of the green. This is one of the few holes in the world where you actually play over the sea from the tee.

The Desert Course at Cabo del Sol

Possessing an abundance of natural desert terrain and with soaring expectations following the success of the Ocean Course, the master of desert golf, Tom Weiskopf, was called upon to create a second masterpiece at Cabo del Sol. He did not disappoint. The Desert Course at Cabo del Sol is a classic desert golf course designed by the master of desert courses. Considered by many as one of Weiskopf's finest designs, The Desert Course at Cabo del Sol is Los Cabos' newest challenge and a perfect complement to The Ocean Course. In Weiskopf's opinion, the "natural beauty of the desert, mountain and ocean provides an ideal setting and some of the best terrain for golf anywhere in the world." With an enticing blend of teasingly short then back breaking 4's, along with three-shot par 5's followed by easily reachable 5 pars, the course takes the golfer on a roller coaster round as it winds its way through lush desert landscape and canyon-like arroyos above the Ocean Course and the Sea of Cortez.

Signature Hole # 18

This gorgeous signature par 4 is a downhill trek with the Sea of Cortez looming as a dramatic backdrop. Off the tees, golfers must avoid a meandering creek that runs along the entire left side of the fairway before crossing the approach and cascading into the lake that guards the front and right of the green. The downhill second shot requires accuracy to the generous, undulating green that is protected by the lake and bunker on the right. This picturesque finishing hole will linger in your memory long after you have completed your round.
