Affordable Golf In Las Vegas

Affordable golf in Las Vegas is somewhat different than in other parts of the country. Las Vegas is one of the most expensive but dramatic places to play golf in the country. Some of the golf courses in this desert oasis can reach an incredible $500 per round. This is slightly out of the price range of the average American golfer.
If you're planning a golf trip to Las Vegas, however, there are several golf courses that are top-notch and are considered to be reasonably priced for the Las Vegas market. In this special series I'll uncover these affordable options for golfing in Las Vegas and any additional options to help the average golfer plan a memorable and affordable golf trip.
To start off this series, let me sweep you away to the Mountain Course at Angel Park Golf Club. Angel Park Golf Club is located in Summerlin, a master-planned community on the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley. Only about 25 minutes from the Strip, this golf complex is more than just a golf course. Located on the property are two 18-hole golf courses, a lighted par-3 course and the only lighted, 18-hole, all grass putting course in Las Vegas.
The Mountain Course at Angel Park was designed by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer and opened in 1990. Palmer designed both of the golf courses at Angel Park, but the Mountain Course is by far the preferred of the two golf courses.
The courses recently underwent a turf reduction program that enhances the visual aspects of the golf course. The addition of more native areas further defines the golf course and gives Angel Park a more desert feel. The greens on the Mountain Course are some of the fastest you will find in Las Vegas. Be careful where you place you ball on these greens as many of them have severe slopes from front to back.
The finishing holes on both sides of the golf course force the player to think off the tee. These two hole share a common water hazard that recently was updated and given a more modern look.
Overall this is a very player-friendly golf course. The course only measures 6,700 yards from the back tees, but some of the more difficult holes are the long par-3's. When you finish your round there are many other things to do on the property. They have a great restaurant and the putting course is a must-play for locals and tourists alike.
These reasons make The Mountain Course at Angel Park a top choice for affordable golf in Las Vegas.
