Sure Tiger Woods has won his first three events he has played in this year but after his performance last year you could have almost called that. What I think will be one of the most interesting stories of the year will not even take place on the PGA Tour. I think the LPGA Tour will be much more exciting by the year's end.

On the LPGA Tour the best players are currently in a battle to see who will come out on top. Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa will be battling all year long to see who will come out on top as the best female player in the world. Both of these players have already won in the early stages of the season, and the battle can only get hotter.

For too long the players on the LPGA Tour have been overshadowed by the drama that takes place on the PGA Tour. With Tiger Woods firmly in possession of the world number one position, for a long time to come, the best place to turn for action is toward the LPGA Tour. The players on the LPGA Tour are much more closely grouped, as far as ability is concerned, than the players on the PGA Tour.

Sorenstam and Ochoa bring an epic battle of young vs. old to the forefront of the golfing world. Ochoa is the bright young star who has managed to wrestle the world number one position away from the salty veteran. It will be interesting to see how this year plays out, but if you saw Ochoa's performance at the HSBC Championship last week, it would seem the Sorenstam has an uphill battle to regain the top spot.

There are some very colorful characters who could play a role in making this season one of the best on the LPGA Tour. Players like Paula Creamer, Natalie Gulbis and Kerrie Webb are the young guns who want a piece of the pie as well.
