Gary Panks started his landscape design company in 1971 in Phoenix, AZ. It was not until 1978 that he began to design golf courses. His first design was the Ahwatukee golf course. This would later allow him to design some of the best golf courses in Arizona.
Several of his golf courses have received recognition from various magazines as the top courses you can play.
In 1988 Gary Panks started working with PGA Tour player Graham Marsh to produce 10 world class golf courses under the Graham & Panks name. Grayhawk in Scottsdale, AZ is one such course.
Typically Gary Panks designs golf courses that have wide fairways and big greens. In Las Vegas he designed Aliante Golf Club and the putting course at Angel Park. Most of his designs can be found concentrated in Arizona and the desert Southwest.
Gary Panks is also an accomplished player which helps him design a golf course that will be challenging for both the high a low handicap player.
Some of his other courses include Grandover Resort, South Mountain Golf Club and Trilogy Golf Club at Redmond Ridge.
