trump logoDonald J. Trump has always been in the spotlight for his daring real estate deals and over-the-top presence in the media. What most people don't realize is that he is also a big player in the world of golf. Donald Trump has been an avid golfer for many years and a natural extension of that is his golf course development.

Currently Donald Trump has five golf courses in his portfolio and one that is set to begin construction. The five golf courses are located in New York, New Jersey, California, Florida and The Grenadines. Each property has its own unique flare with most being private and a few open to the public.

The sixth project is currently on hold due to several problems with acquiring the land to build the project. The project is scheduled to be built in Aberdeen, Scotland and will be home to "the world's greatest golf course" according to Donald Trump.

Donald Trump takes an active role in the development and designs of the golf courses he builds. He has even been the co-architect of several of the golf courses in his portfolio. This is just another feather in the cap of a man who has bought and sold some of the most valuable property in New York, including the land underneath the Empire State Building.

Much like his gaming and real estate projects, Donald Trump spares no expense to create a luxurious golf environment for guests to enjoy. A perfect example is the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles, California. The clubhouse of at this golf course is an huge 45,000 sq. ft. and features a ballroom, three restaurants and a "Top 100" golf shop. Guests will also be able to enjoy a full-service locker room complete with showers and a sauna.

Tom Fazio, Jim Fazio and Pete Dye are just a few of the world class architects that have partnered with Donald Trump on his golf courses. With each new property that comes together, golfers will get a small glimpse into the world of Donald Trump. According to Mike van der Goes, General Manager of the Trump National Los Angeles, "We are creating the Trump Lifestyle at a public facility."

No one can question the success Donald Trump has had not only in real estate but in public relations. He has a keen sense for what the public wants and the package it will take to sell. Over the next series of articles I will be exploring some of the most intriguing golf courses in the Donald J Trump Portfolio.
