carmel-1.jpgAs you travel along the coast of California it's not hard to miss the distinctive landscape of the Monterey Peninsula. Carmel, California is one of the most popular destinations for art lovers around the world. The city has long been home to people who have made their living creating great works of art as well as a private escape by popular names in Hollywood Pictures.

Within this cultural city lies the Pete Dye designed Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Club originally opened in 1981 and is just as beautiful as everything else in Carmel. The golf course is short, measuring at 6,117 yards from the back and plays to a par 70. " The golf course plays longer than what the card actually says. The golf course has two distinct nines, one side meanders in the foothills and the other roll through the valley." says Amy Campbell, Area Director for Carmel Ranch Golf Club. This contrast in holes keep the golfer interested in the course and creates a good variety.

Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Club is located 7 miles from the coast and beyond the fog belt. This is good news for the golfers who like to be the first on the golf course. The golf course is open year round and is usually in good condition. Rates for the course range from $155-220 depending on the time of year and day of the week.

Once you have finished play you can explore the country side or go on a wine tasting trip. The golf course is located a short distance from the Big Sur area and the 17-mile Drive. If you like lush green fairways and a golf course designed by one of the most famous architects than Carmel Valley Ranch is the place to try.
