Great Golf In Arizona

When it comes to PGA Tour caliber golf Arizona plays host to events early and late in the year. One of the reasons is the great weather that this part of the country enjoys. While most people are busy shoveling snow off their cars and deciding which scarf goes best with which jacket, in Arizona they are deciding which putter to use on any given day of the week. This year the PGA Tour again returns to the Grayhawk Golf Club for the Frys.com Open. Last year Mike Weir made a late season charge to win this golf tournament and ensure his PGA Tour playing privileges for the next two years. The Raptor course plays at just slightly over 7,100 yards and was designed by Tom Fazio. Undulating fairways and greens are the main features of this golf course that winds its way through the Sonoran Desert.
With two golf courses to choose from at the Grayhawk Golf Club there is plenty of good golf to be had. Both of these golf courses are target-style golf courses and demand great shot-making from the player. The second golf course on this property is the Talon golf course which was designed by Gary Panks and David Graham and plays to over 6,800 yards.
While searching the internet for some deals for golf in this area I came across scottsdalegolfadventures.com. They have some great deals on their website and they could also custom design a package that will best suit your travel needs. Just one example I found on their website is a two round and two night stay that includes golf at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course. This package starts at $499 and is good any day of the week. The Stadium course is fantastic and annually holds the FBR Open played in late January. This is only one of the great packages available on this site.
One of the golf courses I had heard about in the area was Eagle Mountain Golf Club. Eagle Mountain is a great golf course that plays to just over 6,700 yards but has some of the best views of any golf course in the greater Phoenix/Scottsdale area. This golf course is fun to play with several par-5's that play downhill and can be reached in two shots. This is a target golf course that requires several forced carries and accurate iron shots.
Arizona is a great spot for winter golf. The great golf course conditions and stunning weather make for a great getaway from the cold weather that envelopes most of the United States. Arizona features many of the top designers in the world of golf including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio and Tom Weiskopf. Dust off those sticks and make your reservations early for some of the best golfing of your life in Arizona.
